Wilkes A.D.A.P is licnsed by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The program received its accreditation from the North Carolina Council of Community Program and Carf International. A.D.A.P is a contracted agency of Vaya Health. Wilkes A.D.A.P is a private, non-profit (501 C-3) organization governed by a board of directors made up o a cross section of Wilkes County citizens.

Wilkes A.D.A.P recieves funding from the NC Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services, the United Way of Wilkes, Wilkes County Commissioners, Wilkes Community College, NC Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Wilkes County Board of Education, grants, contributions and fund raising. The board of directors host "The Great Wilkes A.D.A.P Tip Off" fund raising luncheon annually.
